Hi,
Running the GPS Info application my sleeve reports "Receiver SW Version 1.1.3" - I presume this represents the firmware revison of the sleeve?
What versions do other peoples 3000's have?
Is a flash program available to update to the latest version?
Thanks,
Steve. |

To follow up - The above details were obtained using GPS Info 1.3
Running GPS Info 1.1 gives :-
"Receiver SW Version 2.0.2M01121 BWC ADS, Navman 1.1.3" which seems to tally more with details quoted elsewhere.
So I guess 1.3 details only driver but not firmware details? |

Yep, you want to check the $Version, this is the rom version. The first three digits, e.g. 2.0.2 is the version you need to look at. I have 2.1.0 on a 3000 (later sleeve), 2.1.1 on a 3400 and 2.1.1 on a 3450 sleeve. My original 3000 sleeve comes up as no version number. Anything below 2.0 will have the legendary TTFF problems. |

I am a littel confused here regarding my Navman GPS 3000. I run the GPS Info application and it tells me:
Receiver SW Version:
2.1.1M01325 BW A, Navman iPaq 2.1.2
Is this therefore not a Navman 3000 but a later one, or is mine just a later version???
Thanks

Don't be confused, Navman do change their chipset versions from time to time. Did your sleeve come with SmartPath City and Trips, or SmartST Pro ?
The version you've posted is the same version that is shipped with the Navman GPS 3400/3420 package. There is a later version of the sleeve called the 3450 which has an external antenna.
All Navman sleeves have had lacklustre performance in TTFF's and acquiring up until the 3450, where Navman have resolved their issues with the sleeves.
v2.1.3 is the 3450/3300 sleeve. |

It came with SmartPath City & Trips, so I assume it is a 3000. Are there any firmware updates for this to improve TTFF or is that a hardware issue?

Unfortunately not, there's no way of flashing the firmware (or atleast not any way that Navman will let end users do). The improved signal and TTFF's come from an enhancement by including a military style crystal into the 3450 sleeve. |
