I have a MyGuide6500XL (Mitac Mio 168 clone), and although I'm very happy with it overall, satellite acquisition time with TTN5 is apalling!!

I don't really want to outlay any more in upgrading the PDA to an iPaq etc... So, is it possible to connect an external GPS receiver (BT preferably!) to the ActiveSync port? That way, I can leave the GPS powered up in the car constantly, and get an immediate fix when I connect the PDA?

No can do. ActiveSync works based on TCP/IP.

Allow the 168 to grab some satellites before you fire up TTN5
