Hi
not sure if putting your address is a good idea, but i might be overcautious but if it has been stolen it gives the thief your home address and might invite him round to take more goods.
i think i would just put name and email plus work address if i wanted an address.

Not sure I follow the logic - why would a burglar want to specifically target me? Might be 50 miles out of his way when he can just burgle people in the next street to his - using my Garmin to get there of course ;-)

No I'd much rather risk having my lost/stolen property returned than the even more remote chance of being stalked by a random criminal.

You can't change the copyright notice (because it is overlaid on top of the splash screen image) and you can't change the globe background image because you can only upload the splash screen.

xImage gives you pretty limited functionality but it is certainly better than nothing and I'm sure that people will find lots of ingenious uses for it.

Garmin have now given us a means of being able to upload POIs to the i3 and screens to/from the i3. Hopefully they will shortly get around to giving us an app to download POIs from the i3.

Soon - please Garmin

Is anyone else having this problem?

I can get "Screen Shot" or "Splash Screen" but I can't send images to the GPS.
I tried getting and then sending back the same image without any editing just to ensure it was in the correct size and format etc but I always get this message:

The GPS is not responding. Please ensure the following and try again:
1. The GPS is turned on.
2. The cable is connected to your computer

OK

I know my i3 is connecting ok because it finds it and I can get images from i3 and view them.
I have the latest drivers etc.

Best regards
Minidish

Your xImage is working correctly, this always comes up after you have downloaded a image back to your i3. you should see a blue progressive bar go accross the screen when downloading. If you try a differrent image but to the same format you will find it has worked.

Cheers MELennium

Just tried sending "One i did earlier" and yup sure enough it's showing on bootup Smile

It was the Ximage report that threw me.

Best regards

This is one of my Splash Screens, I have included my name, address, telephone & make of car also added reward if lost or stolen, I have blurred some details for obvious reasons.

When you upload the screen back to the i3 you should see a blue progress bar showing progress. If your system is like mine you will then get the error message.

Ignore the error message and re-boot your i3. You should then see your new splash screen.
