Tro,

I've now sent you the instructions. But remember this forum is for people to help each other and posts like yours above don't encourage people to help.

If you read the post you'll notice I started the thread when little was known about destinator ver 3.75 and that's now changed due to a lot of people posting details they find when exploring the program.

Perhaps a mod could delete.

Mikey

Hey TRO,
Firstly this isn't tech support so keep your cool. Its just a bunch of people sharing some tips and muddling through the mess that is Destinators Favourites Alerts fiasco.

Calm down. if you spend long enough wading through this forum you will find the answers. I agree that someone, when they get the time, would be a superstar if they provide a definitive solution, perhaps as a sticky, but in the meantime you'll have to do what we all have and figure out the bulk for yourself or start bugging Destinator. It was them who took your money. But be warned you'll waste more time there than here. So put the kettle on, sit back with a cuppa, read the threads and figure it out.

And yes, I am being patronising but then again you are being rude.

Tro, If you have Excel on your machine, the csv files will appear to be in Excel format. check the file extension. If it is .csv and not .xls you are ok.

.csv files can be opened in most spreadsheet apps (Excel, Lotus 123, Open Office etc)., as well as database apps such as Access.

Tro,

I've sent you an email, so check your inbox.

The instructions I sent are idiot proof. As long as you can read Laughing Out Loud.

"Extract the master file
(pocketgps_uk_sc.zip/single file version/csvfiles/destinator3/pocketgps_uk_sc)
from the zip file to a folder "

What you've done is extract the single files. Now whilst you can edit these it's far easier to edit the single file version.

As Jimbo suggested, take a break and everything will work fine. Just follow the instructions to the letter.

Might be a stupid question, but have you selected them ??

You need to tick the box and select the warning distance !!!

To do this goto:-

Destinate, Favorites. Put tick in Auto Alert 1 & 2 and select each option and press tools - edit
now enter the first and second warning distances.

Yes. All set.

I am pretty sure my active sync must not have transferred them to the PDA. If it does not do it automatically, then I have no idea, how to do it.

If autosync is not doing it automatically, then i am lost.

Thanks for all the info in this forum regarding setting up the Speed Camera info. Works great.
I changed the gatso warning.wav and the redlightcam. wav files to audible warning tones. These I find are far better. I have a high pitched alert(similar to a car alrm going off) for Gatso's. This is more noticable if you have the radio on or are on 'Auto Pilot' on a long stretch of dual carriageway.

Has anyone come up with a way of changing the visual alerts yet?
