Is there any way to change the GPS com ports available within TTN5? the only com port I can attach my GPS (Holus GPSlim 236) to on the Orange SPV m1000 is com 5 but TTN5 only gives me the BT on Com 6 option in the GPS configuration screen.

TTN5 is not messing with ports any more (TTN3 was). Most probably you have another program running that occupies the COM port. Do a soft reset and try again.

Make sure you have your IR Beam turned off on your M1000 - You'll find this under Start--> Settings --> Connections --> Beam - Simply make sure the box to recevive all incoming beams is unchecked. - This is known to cause problems with all com ports on M1000's - Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. I managed to sort it out by using a bluetooth utility I found via the XDA developers forum. I got it here:

http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html

It enabled me to specify a particular SPP port after bonding the GPS. I chose port 4 and then when I went into TTN5 and selected GPS configuration the Holux just appeared in the "other bluetooth receiver" section as if by magic.

Sweet!

Rather than it being a com port problem I wonder whether the SPV M1000 doesn't uses SPP by default when bonding bluetooth devices ?? Or maybe Im just showing my ignorance of these things.
