TFAC CF-30 GPS & TOMTOM 2

Hi, i recently bought a TFAC CF-30 GPS. I am having some poreblems. I have used TomTom 2 and Destinator 2 and none can lock on to a sattelite. I can get

signals of upto 4 sattelite if i connect the external antenna on roof of the car, but i do not get lock on the sattellite hence tomtom says GPS position

unreliable. Is there anything i am doing wrong ? My Pocket PC is a Toshiba E550. Has anyone used TFAC CF-30 GPS, can you get signals from more sattelites ?
