Come on guys, this is all a little silly. It's obviously in all our interests for this website to stay on good terms with TomTom, and if TomTom desire to release official news on their own product at a certain time why shouldn't they?

However all this crap about the new TomTom. Well I thought this forum was to help the people who had bought a TomTom, but it seems pocketgps are only here to lick the arses of TomTom, so this is the last time I will ever post on this forum.

Darren has taken the blame for this but in actuality it is my fault. TomTom gave me the information to prepare a news release which I passed to Darren, but they amended the embargo date, which I didn't pass on. An unfortunate mistake on my part for which I apologise.

We do not "lick the arses of TomTom" we have signed a legally binding Non-Disclosure Agreement with TomTom. This allows us to have early access to information which must remain out of the public domain until TomTom officially approve the release of such data.

If we were not covered by that agreement then we would be free to post whatever we wanted. But we think that we can provide a better service to you guys by being in the know. So that when new products or software upgrades are released we can report with better and deeper knowledge of the items.

Hopefully you as well as all of the other visitors to this site appreciate the assistance we provide to all SatNav users not just TomTom.

Darren and Mike,

More power to your elbows. I think your site is wonderful and extremely valuable. Although I am supposed to be an IT professional I am a bit of a bozo when it comes to some related kit (like my TTG 500!) and couldn't have found it as useful without your, and others', help on this site. It's a great shame that some people blow a gasket at the slightest excuse - I've never found that anger, particularly of the "shoot the messenger" type, ever achieves anything. I think you are quire right to maintain your close links with Tomtom even if this means that you are oblige to abide by their embargos.

Keep up the good work folks. This is one member who is very satisfied with your service.

Best wishes,

Colin

NDAs are a fact of life - frustrating to end users, but very necessary to suppliers. The fact that you have a negotiated NDA with TomTom shows they have faith in you, and confirms the accuracy of your reporting on their products.

As a newcomer to SatNav, I have found this site and forums invaluable, and the collective knowledge has enabled me to use my new TTG300 to the full.

Thanks to all,

Kev
