That would be my fault! Yes I deleted the thread, no I hadn't meant to and yes my fat fingers are too blame.

I was intending to temporarily move the thread out of public view whilst I removed the images and then re-instate it. As you can see I co**ed that up royally!.

Why did I want to remove the images? Well clearly a cat was let out of the bag ahead of time and we've been asked to assist. Why do we suck up to them? Because we get 'heads up' on news which allows us to prepare for launches, receive pre-release hardware to photograph etc etc, mutually beneficial.

I apologise for deleteing the original thread, it was an honest mistake. As you well know we don't operate like that here, open and honest. But please don't keep baiting us with the images, speculate about the hardware by all means but any images will be removed.

The alternative is to publish the information we received regardless of their wishes and be damned.

Then we get corporate lawyers baying for our blood and have to pull it anyway and never get scoops again.

Compromise is occasionally necessary.

I see, it's the new TomTom One, can be found many times on google, with pictures and spec, several forums are already talking about it.

The only place these pictures could have come from is TomTom, and the specs, so what's TomTom up to by requesting that you removed the above image.

I just love companies that leak things then pretend that they did not do it, still it's cheap publicity.

They didn't 'leak' anything. They gave us advance notice with details and then I 'leaked' it ahead of time by mistake so I'm the guilty party here not TomTom Embarassed

Your fired.

I loved my old boss, he use to call me into his office and say

"You should have been here at 9 o'clock" and I always replied "Why, what happened" he was never amused.

oops - are you still on good terms with them?

At least you've done the right thing and sorted it.
