TTG300 Viking 256mb SD (Japan) App 5.201 OS:908 Map v562

Apologies if answer already in forum but so much useful info I can't find it.

As recommended, trying to back up original SD onto Viking card before copying over Speed Camera files. Files appear to be a mirror image of those on original TTG card but when switching on TTG the infamous SD card with red cross appears.

I have tried doing back up via both the TTG and card reader but neither works.

Also, should I be able to get the SC files on the original card?

Help!
Thanks in advance.

No. Using both methods, the SD card appears to be holding all the right files following copy from original SD to HD then from HD to larger SD (i.e. what is visible mirrors what is visible on the original).

SD card previously used in IPAQ so known to be functioning correctly.

I had the same problem. I finally got it to work by attaching both TT GO and the card reader to the PC and coping from the TT GO directly into the card reader (i.e. without coping to the hard disk).

That's an interesting idea. It suggests that something was stopping read/writes to the Hard Drive.

Worth giving it a GO, if you're having problems.

Thx for your suggestions guys. I tired you alternatives which still didn't work initially. Having looked a bit deeper into the file sizes copied over it was clear that a small amount of data had not come over from the original copy despite it looking the same in windows explorer. Now appear to have a working copy.

Next task-install safety camera POI's. Wish me luck!!
Thanks again.

Have you been able to do a Full Backup to the Hard Drive?

Does the Backup Folder cantain roughly the same files and file sizes as the SD card?

When you Copy/Paste to the 512 SD card, once again are the files and file sizes the same?

If you Right Click the 512 card and select Properties, what information on Used, Free and Capacity do you get?

Make sure that you use the option in Windows Explorer to view all files - including hidden files and system files. Otherwise, it will only copy the visible files, and miss the rest.

Have you done a file count to see if they tally?

Although I always use the 'Show Hidden Files and Folders', I have never seen them on any SD card I've used. If I hide them, I see exactly the same information.
