Lets have a postcode search NOW

Will someone at TTN please design a proper postcode search. I live in a rural area, half the places I need to get to have not got a road name or a number, a postcode search is essential/vital...etc..etc



Why not give UK users (I know our postcode is different to USA & Europe) the option to have this facility.



I still spend half my life using streetmap.co.uk and then messing about with TTN to find out where I am going - and at the moment,its nowhere fast!!!

I very much doubt we will see this in Navigator 2 - though if it's wished for enough, maybe it will surface in a future version. I can't think that there'll be any reissue of data before the next major version now - and it would require not just a program update to add postcode searching.



Part of the problem is that the data, particularly if you want locations down to individual house numbers, is large in the UK (because of our postcode system) and the data is not necessarily cheap to licence. Indeed, I'm not sure a full house number postcode system is licensable for something like a navigation system - multimap.com is now charged per use of that data.





I had wondered if someone would produce a program that would have the postcode database and allow you to select a location and "Navigate to". I think this is possible using the SDK - but so far, nobody has bothered. I suspect such a program would not be cheap!
