the receiver is so-so (Nemerix chipset). Obviously you get what you pay for. Doesn't come close to a SiRF III based receiver.

The fix times are more or less the same throughout all receivers (with unobstructed view). It's more a question of how good they can hold the fix.

i have both a bt-77 and bt-338 and there is a huge difference in getting a fix in and around the center of london. never had a fix at work or in a 15 min walk to and from work with the bt-77 but its ok in the car. the bt-338 has a fix in les than 30 secs in my work place and ive not had an area it didnt fix and work in.
as i mainly walk the bt-338 is ideal and the bt-77 is going on to stay in the car for now.
my advice is get the bt-338. you get what you pay for.

was setup have you got? Mine will be running on a ipaq 3870, which Im really glad came with bluetooth... checked it works with my mobile, just in case, because im not one of the luckiest people around.

So do you use yours with TT5? I was quite impressed with this app, apart from my navman could hardly get a fix.. I think its to be honest...

so does it actually keep its fix and also does it get a fix quite quickly?
what would you say was your longest fix?

I use mine with TT5m on a Nokia 6680. only had it 3 days so havent really had a chance to test it although it works in places my bt-77 didnt.
ive done over 1000 miles in the last 2 weeks, going from london to cornwall and back via different stop offs and the bt-77 only lost a fix 3 times but re-fixed within seconds and didnt lose the route.
im very imressed with the set up and cant wait till the weekend to try out the 338.

well i made a few trips over the weekend in 2 different cars and the only problems i had were getting a fix. it seems to be taking longer than when i first got the bt-338. in fact ive got the receiver sitting by a window not getting a fix for the last 25mins yet in the same place last week it took under a min.
also i noticed that TT5m was jumping around more than with my bt-77 but that colud just be because i hadnt done the routes before and i had SN turned off.
im a bit worried about the time to fix now after a few days of retracing my steps from last week where i had a fix very quickly.
Still better than bt-77 though.
