Which Sirf III receiver should I buy?

I'm confused about what Sirf III receiver I should buy.
I'm looking at www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk.
ALL the receivers are priced the same!

The coices I have are:

- Fortuna: Slim Bluetooth GPS receiver (SiRF Star III chip)
- Holux: GPSlim236 Wireless GPS receiver (SiRF Star III Chipset)
- SysOnChip: Smart Blue mini (SiRF Star III)
- Leadtek: Bluetooth GPS (SiRF Star III)

I'd like to know which people would recommend above others.

At the moment, my choice has to be the Fortuna.
The Fortuna comes with a dual power lead, which means I can use this to power my PDA in the car.
Do any of the other units come with the same?

I've got the older Fortuna clip on.
It comes with a dual charger cable that means I can charge my PDA as well.
(You need to have the right adapter for the PDA.)
This is really convenient.
Only one problem though: it doesn't charge both the PDA and GPS receiver at the same time when both are connected.
For me... this defeats the purpose of having the dual charger.

Is it supposed to be like this?

I haven't used the others but I've found the TomTom unit to be excellent.
No problems getting a fix, it's light as a feather and fits in my pocket easily.

I haven't managed to run it out of power yet either, despite some 6+ hour journeys.

does the tomtom have a seperate battery?
that was one of the criticisms of the old one.

well... yes.
having read and researched on this website, i believe i'm right in saying that a seperate battery is better.
if ur tomtom units battery dies, then the unti dies.
for others, if the bettery malfunctions, then u can replace the battery very easily.

i would add that tomtom (for the older model anyway) receiver there's been several people grumbling because their unit has died after one year and one day (outside of guarantee).

Although I know that some users have had problems with the Globalsat BT-338 and getting it to talk to TTN5. I had no problems with mine, and the 15hr battery life makes it an excellent buy. The Fortuna slim while a bit cheaper only has an 8.5hr battery and is only slightly smaller.

I'm interested in the same as the OP, am looking for a new GPS receiver with faster TTFF (or whatever it is, for fix time)...

The BT-338 seems to be quite well used, any opinions?
