|
|
Just got a 700 Go and when its plugged into the car adapter the unit shuts off after approx 20-30secs, I have 5 tomtom go 300's and none of these have this problem.
Just a few things I have noticed, it only happens when you plug the charger into the holder, it is fine when you plug the charger into the rear of the tomtom.
I have also noticed that the 700 takes you on some weird routes, compared to the 300/ ipaq which run tt5, the 700 takes you a different route all the time? anyone else noticed this.
Do you think the unit is faulty, or is there a firmware update to fix this, I have searched this site but not seen any other posts mentioning this problem.
One other thing, when you plug the charger into the car holder the screen comes on automaticlly when you turn on the ignition, the car is one that does not have a perm positive for the cigar lighter, but when you plug it into the unit, the TT does not turn on, you have to manually do it, this is what is causing the problem I think.
Thanks for the help |

i have the same problem about it turning off with my 300....
it comes back on again but goes on and off at times unless i take the lead out of the bracket and plug it into the tomtom it's self, then no problems _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my Hard Drive????

This must be a problem with cars that don't have a perm live ciggie lighter. Don't suppose you own a Vectra do you |

Sounds like bad connection problem in your case. |
