hi, im running tt5 on a mio 168, and im using the pocket gps camera database to detect camera,s.
i have it set to warn me of the camera,s by a bleep and then on screen it tells me what sort it is, and how far away it is, but then as i get closer to the camera the distance on screen seems to be lagging behind by about 75-100 yards, sometimes after ive pasted the camera by 100 yards its still saying 70 yards to go, is this normal?? + if i have the poi highlighted on the route im taking the screen seems to skip along instead of running smooth can anyone shed some light on this??
when i downloaded the camera database via poiedit i highlighted all the camera files, do i need them all?? and could they be causing the trouble??.

You have discovered the POI display bug in TT5. If you select "Hide POI" TT5 will draw the screen correctly, but only show you the POI it is warning you about.

The bug is a major irritation for me - TT4 was much better in this respect and could display well over 12,000 POIs on a slow IPAQ without problems.

Yes I have found the same - if I have more than ~4 POI's active then the refresh rate becomes very low.

However if you set warnings for POI then they'll show up on the map when you get the warning. I've set speed cameras to pop up at 200-500 yds and only on route and it seems to work well.

thanks for the quick replys, hidden the poi and that seems to have helped the screen to run much smoother, so ill just have to live with the inaccriate distance readings then or is there anything else i could try???

you will find if you remove any tt3 poi's you should be ok with camera database .
what i did was removed all the pictures and swopped them for poi icons on tt5 ,ok it's not the best but at lest you get to see the camera's all the time

I'm also running TT5 ver 5.1 on my Mio 168 with the PGPSWorld camera database, with hidden POI's, I get safety camera warnings 250-500 mtrs beforehand depending on the speed of the road.

However, there is quite a lag between what is on the map and where I am on the ground. For example, I had passed a redlight camera, but the display was still counting down from 70 yards ??

Is this a bug in the system, or is it the refresh rate of the map ?

Hopefully this will be addressed in the next update.

Baz
