Like many other people I have been waiting very patiently for a new version of GPS Assist that works properley with Navigator 2. I have tried all of the work arounds listed in these forums but I still find that all of a sudden I loose my key mapping.
If you are reading this Jo then at least let us know you are still out there, I am sure there are also many other loyal GPS Assist users reading this that are waiting for news of the new version.
The two products when working together properley make a formidable team.

Maybe I'm just one of the lucky few, but I don't have any problems with GPSAssist under TomTom Navigator 2.
The last time I spoke with Jo, he was working on a version using SDK2 from TomTom, but it's a re-write from the ground up which should also make it a lot faster (so it won't be quick update). |

Youre a lucky man Dave, i too am blighted with albeit minor issues with gpsassist and TTN2 but they are numerous. In fact, i reverted to TTN1 which is faultless with GPSassist.
Whats annoying is that as registered paying users, we have heard nothing, not a general mail, nothing. Our mails go unanswered, our posts on here unheeded...
I myself bought POIwarner last week as i need the speed camera database and it doesnt work properly under GPAssist / TTN2.
So, Jo, how about it, how long, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, we dont mind waiting so long as we are kept informed.
For the record, POIwarner is great for the speed camera database and its also well priced. _________________ If at first, you dont succeed, skydiving is not for you!! |

I experienced a different set of problems with GPSAssist being incompatible with other PPC software - see otherr thread in this group - and took the advice and am now using CheckPoint with no problems whatsoever.
Unless you rely on the point-to-point navigation or are particularly enamoured with some of the more cosmetic offerings, then personally I see no real compelling reason to continue with GPSAssist (most people use it primarily as a POI warner don't they now TTN2 is out?)
Checkpoint does what I need. What about a Checkpoint forum then? _________________ (using Tom Tom Navigator 2) |

by the way...when I contacted GPSAssist about the issue they were actually very quick in coming back with support...albeit pointless when I worked out the conflict in the products. But, they were responsive. _________________ (using Tom Tom Navigator 2) |

I'm actually really encouraged to hear that there is a bottom-up rewrite going on for TomTom Navigator 2, using the new SDK.
As I had posted previously, the problems people are experiencing with the current version, coupled with reports of lots of hidden files in the \Windows folder and possible compatibility problems with other applications are enough to keep me away from the current version of GPSAssist.
However, I'd love some of the features, and look forward to a new version in due course.
