Prabably not. You only get integrated faster CPU, MRE, ASN and Bluetooth extra.

and of course with the 500 you end up with a handsfree phone system which you don't get with the 300 !

I've got the same question, but I intend to use the system when on holiday in France too.

My choice is to either:
a)
Buy a Go500 which I believe comes with detailed UK maps and major routes of Europe.

or b)

Buy the Go300 (UK maps only) & then buy either the France map or the Western Europe maps on CD.

How detailed are the built in Europe maps in the Go 500?

The price is about the same either way

Cheers
Nez

My 2p's worth I had the same predicament, although the only thing i see diffrent is the maps and the handsfree function.

I have a handsfree kit so its no use having the 500 and iam navigating western europe nextyear so i will buy the maps as and when, the 500 only supports european MAJOR roads, they arent street maps which you can buy Western EU complete on CD.
Bear in mind if you buy a few sd cards and load the countries onto them they are alot easier to swap and change that lugging a laptop and discs arund with you.
