The HI-303MMF is certainly a Type 1 CompactFlash card - as I have one of these.

I believe the HI-302 and HI-302LP both are as well - this web page at the Haicom site says the are Type 1.

As for the "additional CF card for maps", I don't follow what you mean. They are CF cards. If you want to use one of these GPSes with a CF card for maps, you need a device with two CF card slots. Suitable dual CF expansion packs exist for iPAQs (other than the iPAQ 1910).

I wonder if you're getting confused with the 'sleeve' GPSes used with iPAQs that have CF card slot on the sleeve often used for maps.

A more common combination these days with a CF GPS is a SD memory card for maps. Many Pocket PCs have both a CF and a SD slot.

Indeed - though it'd be pretty hard to shove a slot for a CF memory card into a CF card GPS receiver! The resulting thing would be incredibly bulky.

As you say, if you want to use a CF GPS with satellite navigation software, you really need a second slot for a memory card of some format. The options are as I explained in my earlier post.
