With TTN3 there was a problem with SD Cards and displaying POi's. TTN3 used to intermittently crash if POI's were being displayed. To overcome this problem I would hide the POI's and the crashing would go away.

With TTN5 I noticed that I was intermittently losing warnings when nearing POI's. If I close down TomTom i would see that my SD Card appeared empty. I now have to eject and re-insert the SD Card for TomTom to work correctly and start warning me again. To me this seems like a similar problem to that of TTN3 but is probably worse as I am driving along and suddenly not being warned of POI's (speed camera's in particular). At least with TomTom 3 it would crash and I knew it wasn't working?

Is anyone else having this problem and is there any work around?

That sounds to me more like an O/S problem than a TomTom problem and that the problems in TomTom are just symptoms of the SD card up.

Can you try a different make of SD card?
