Seidio is now officially introducing the "Bluetooth Receiver Charging Cable". You can simultaneously power and charge your Bluetooth GPS receiver through the DC power jack on the PDA mount. This cable is compatible with EMTAC/Socket Bluetooth GPS and TomTom Bluetooth GPS Receiver.

Seidio’s mount has the capability to charge these bluetooth receivers and another distinctive feature of this mount is its capability to charge your PDA in the cradle while charging an additional PDA, cellular phone, or digital camera through its additional charging port. It can also equip your wireless phone or PDA phone to talk hands free. Enjoy crystal clear sounds/music/GPS commands that can be transmitted from your PDA to the speakers located on the mount.

The introductary price for the cable is $14.95

Don't take this the wrong way, Dave, but $14.95 is a SHOCKING price for what it is! 8O

I've just brought the G2500, and it's fantastic, but at UK prices I'm looking to spend somewhere between £8.50 and £16 for this charging cable - plus postage.

I've only just received my G2500 from Seidio direct, so as soon as I get a spare few minutes it's out with the multimeter and I'm making my own cable - I estimate about £1.20 worth of parts maximum, plus five minutes with a soldering iron.

When I've checked the pinouts and made/tested the cable, I'll report back here so that anyone else who fancies making their own can do so.

Pin outs? The BT charging cable has a standard male coaxial power connector at each end. Some come with a female at one end and a male-male adaptor plug. This is the same size as on the HP Ipaq PSU or TT3 BT psu.

The cable supplied by TomTom with an RJ11(or12) plug and the male coaxial power adaptor with the TT3 Bluetooth kit also works in this unit.

Hi MrT - The barrel-type DC power line socket is not standard by any means.

The standard sizes are 2.5mm & 2.1mm and occasionaly 1.3mm (referring to the centre pin), wheras the Seidio unit takes a 1.7mm (4mm OD), which is a to find!

I have located some and have ordered 4 pieces, plus two ready made RJ11 cables, so I can make four of these cables in total.

Including postage (the cables came from a different source) I have spent about £10 in parts (the postage being by far themost expensive portion) and have sold two of the cables (one extra long for a colleague who runs his receiver in the boot) for a fiver each.

Will draw a diagram when I get the chance and post it here with a list of suppliers, for interested ex-electronics boys like me!

So, did you manage to draw a diagram and could you let me know where you managed to get the aprts from in the end?

Thanks

I'd like to know this, too.

I've identified the plugs as standard EIAJ (Japanese) connectors, but nowhere in the UK seems to sell them!

Obviously I'm looking in the wrong place Sad

Just puchased a GPS - Barrel to Barrel cable for SEIDIO mounts and BT GPS for £5. Item 19464.
Also an additional 9" gooseneck mount to make life easier when transfering from car - to - car. (Leave the goosnecks stuck to the windscreen and just transfer the mount!). Item 20134.
£5 for postage seems a bit steep in comparison, from totalpda.co.uk
