I think Nav5 is great Smile
BUT Sad
the Hospital POI is not as complete as the Nav3 version, many hospitals are missing, including James Cook university hospital Middlesbrough ,reputed to be one of the biggest in Europe & the regional cardio hospital the Freeman at Newcastle.
Is it possible to transfer all the hospital poi details from nav3 to nav5 & if so how? Rolling Eyes

download the pois from the pocketgpsworld site - it's easier than copying them over, alternatively, copy the POI file from the map directory of TT3 into the map directory of TT5.

From the install disk choose the option to install maps to a folder on the PC. Then just copy the file to the SD card peferably with a card reader, if you haven't a card reader then with ActiveSync.

If you rename the original poi.dat file before copying the new file then you can change between them on the PDA with a simple renaming procedure.

I have done some searching and I have found 4 local hospitals, that I know of anyway, that are missing,

Worthing & Southlands Hospital,
Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital,
St Marys Hosiptal,
Royal Haslar Hospital,

It's riddiculas, 2 of those I know were in TTN3 as I work for a medical company and had to visit 2 of them,

Remind me, Why did we pay £46 for these maps?

Carl,

Pleased it helped.

Yes - there must be more POI's in the TTN5 files but why have previously valid POI's been removed??

Looking at the Hospital POIs for London - it looks like the POIs are for hospitals with Accident and Emergeny Departments. Thise which don't take walk in casualties are not in the last as far as i can see. I that is the case there is some method to the madness - I would rather that than find it routing me to a hospital in an emergency only to find the hospital could't help me.

If you know the postcode of the hospital you should be able to generate your own POIs on the fly. The TT POI file is never going to have all the destinations you want. I don't rely on the TT POI files if there is an alternative way of getting to my destination.

Carl,

Havant War Memorial
King Edward VII

are also missing.

Then again - although the POI icons aren't displayed, I can tell my iPAQ to CALL the hospitals (presumably via a BT enabled phone)!
