Thought I'd have a play with some other software - loaded BeeLineGPS and GPSdash2. They worked fine (on COM1). Now MEDION-Navigator can't see the GPS - I've tried all the COM port options and still get the no GPS recognised signal (GPS!).

I've done a hard reset, reloaded the navigator software from the CD but still no joy. Put BeeLineGPS back on and it worked, so the GPS is OK.

Anybody got any ideas --- I'm stumped ?

I've got the ALDI MD40600 package system.

TIA

The other GPS software could be 'hogging' the com port. So, try a soft reset......

If this fails you'll have to play about using a prog called winfast to get back to the original settings.....
have a look at this post.

It helped me with the opposite of this prob. ie: I couldn't get my medion to run other GPS software.....

I'v not got my medion with me right now. But, if you cant suss it I'll have look later and see what the settings should be.

Great suggestion...:D

Tried WinFast Navigator, reset the message options to the default and it worked. Not sure how they got corrupted in the first place, must have been one of the programs I was playing with (basically down to my lack of understanding 8O )

Many thanks
