Could somebody clarfiy some points regarding the new TTN5 for PPC?

1. Is it only supplied on SD card? If so what size is the card and how much remaing space is on it?

2.If it is only supplied on SD card, is it possible to back this hard drive for saftey's sake?

3. Will the existing PGPS camera database still work, and will it still be able to use a semi automatic update eg PO-edit?

4. Will it be possible to add specific voice warnings to POI's eg cameras of a known type or speed?

5. Will it still be possible to use other GPS apps. eg Memory Map, with or without a work around?

6. Is the fact that I have Maps of Western Europe irrelevant as regards to the cost of the TTN5 upgrade? (Unlike TTN2 > TTN3)

I was about to join the rush to order the upgrade when I thought I'd better check that it was indeed an upgrade for my purposes

Many thanks in advance

Malcolm

I've ordered mine. Does anyone know if the TTN5 (as opposed to the maps) will act like an upgrade, overwriting TTN3? Or will it be a completely new installation, leaving TTN3 intact on the device- so that we end up with both TTN3 and TTN5 programmes?

Are the GPS settings likely to be the same?

Hi,

Does anybody know whether this combination will work?

The MyGuide 6500XL was Lidl's last GPS PDA offering. It was never listed as compatible with TTN3 - but it worked fine. So will TTN5 compatibility be any different?

Thanks.

Does anybody know what the new map sizes are please ?
Could I fit the UK & France onto a 256MB SD ?
Can the maps be loaded on in sections as before ?

I'm going to France in 8 weeks so depending on the replies I may need to buy a bigger SD card.

Assuming I get ver5 by then !! Smile

With TT4 France and Germany were available as huge files (about 250Mb and 400Mb) but both were also available in 80Mb regional chunks. Are these still available on the disks or is someone visiting a small part of Germany required to have a card big enough for it all? I have 1GB card but UK plus Germany plus France and Benelux would not leave much room for anything else.

Hi,
The 6500XL has built in GPS. TT GPS v1.41 detects it as a serial cable on SP2 and works fine. Does TTN5 still use TT GPS or something new?

TomTom lists the Mitac Mio 168 as compatible with TTN5, but the Yakumo PDA's as not compatible........ I thought they were the same

Maybe it's a Dutch thing Question

Is it possible to modify the menus as possible in TT3?

I ask as I modified mine so that when I touched the screen whilst navigating, I had the options for 2D, Night colours + others I prefer on the first screen, from the information I have, it seems you cannot change the layout of each of the preference screen on TT5.

If I dont have TT Traffic, I`d rather replace it with an icon for something I do use.

Hope that make a bit of sense !!

Nige.

Hi

I have the 6500xl, which is the 400mhz version of the MIO and Yakumo 400 etc,

and can confirm that the TT5 program runs fine when installed it detects the internal GPS on SP2 (Just select other NMEA in the setup menu), no prblems here with it running TT5

Cheers

Richard
