Do you have a lot of other POI files? (not including the origonal ones). Evn if there is plenty of space on the card the go will only display the first few extras. I say few not sure exactly how many but it will display enough to show all speed camera files if tou dont have many others.

If you go over 40 of your own PoIs they won't show.

I have 45 POI categories on the sytem but only 3 enabled. These are red-light, Gatso, and continental. I do not have the other cameras appearing as POI tick boxes.

The GATSO and mobile camera are zoned I think. Make sure you dont put the gatso and mobile cameras on to TTG from outside the speed zoned folder or it will warn you twice for the same camera.

Ah, but that's just what many people want - myself included.

If you use different distances and sounds, you can get (say) a bell at 500 yards for the unzoned entry and "Warning, speed camera, 40 mph" at 300 yards from the zoned entry. You can thus have advanced warning of a camera - which alerts you to listen out for the detail as you get nearer to it.

Hi guys

maybe Im dim or not technical minded or maybe both

read on - Just bought my very first portable Sat Nav system
tom tom 300
app5.000(4109/050407)

downloaded the speed camera /gatso and red light warnings no problem from the site mentioned in earlier threads but when I try to copy the file
(gatso verbal warning sounds eg Gatso 30 mph or something
2852.dat.chk (then rename it to dat.chk then copy it to my tom tom it says my card is full , so when I try to replace the new file with the old one
my tom tom freezes and stops working

then have to reset it to get it working again

at the moment it just has beeps or bugle or cow and a few others , would love it to be enabled to give verbal warnings instead

Do I need to get a larger sized sd card ?
I have followed the advice to a tee

downloaded the file to my desktop , renamed it , then try to copy it to the root directory and it pops up (full ) upon trying to swap the files new downloaded version for old it crashes,

what am I doing wrong here ?

Like I SAY , new to this , and not 100% up to speed technically either

appreciate any help

thanks

You do appreciate the difference between these two numbers, right? ;-)

Your build is 4109, so you must not use the data.chk file for build 2852. You need to use the one for 4109.

Unless I'm mistaken, the file needs to be called data.chk - not dat.chk

If there's not room on the card to replace the file (which requires both versions to be there during part of the process) make a backup copy of the old file on your PC, and then delete it from the SD card before installing the new version.

As Lutz has said, make sure that you use the right version of the file to match your firmware.

What version of the application has been installed? If it is not the same as the download one then there is likely to be problems.

I received my new updated UK maps today and they are working ok, together with the safety camera database. I am now wishing to use the spoken sounds intead of the bells & whistles.

I have app 5.000 (4102/050329). Will I be able to use the file that is showing for V5 update. The version indicated for the download is 4109 but I have 4102.

I have gone through TomTomTim "Quick and Dirty" instructions.

One question about the spreadsheet:

If you just want to replace a few of the sounds... what do you write in the lines that should be original sounds...?
