(I've also posted this in the Beginner GPS section - but am posting it here as it has a specific TMC question that I haven't been able to find an answer to. Perhaps someone can help?.Thx)

Hi. New to all of this so please help if you can.

I'm interested in getting an IPAQ 6340 (mainly because of it's pocket PC + phone capabilities) and want to use it for GPS navigation in the car and on my motorbike (probably by putting it in a tank bag). I need advice on the following:

* Which is the best bluetooth GPS receiver to use? Both HP and others on this site recommend the TomTom3. However is this the best? And is there any way in which it can receive & display TMC traffic data in the UK (or do I need a different bluetooth GPS receiver and/or software)?

* I'd like to add (& regularly update) a database of UK speed cameras to this. I've had a look at some of the postings but am still confused (especially as regards whether I need a "PQI warner" and if I need to manually enter speed camera locations). Can anybody help by defining what I need and how I can get/install them. (I'm reasonably PC literate).

* If I want to play e.g. MP3 files from the Ipaq in my car is there an easy way to do this whilst still maintaining the GPS/phone functionality - without rewiring my car? I see that some people have managed to do this through a mobile phone speaker (I use a Parrot bluetooth) - does this work OK or what is the best option?

* Also what mounting would I need that would power both IPAq and GPS in teh car?

Apologies for the long/involved post, but I want to make sure I make the right purchase.

Many Thanks in advance

You need a special receiver that combines GPS and FM radio - very few of them around so your choice is limited. GNS owns the market, I think.

Also, you need specific software that can actually use the TMC data, again very few around - basically just Navigon.

The alternative is to use traffic updates over GPRS - there are some programs that do that, including TomTom and Route66
