I think what's happening is that every time you connect, it downloads the latest POI corrections for all the categories you subscribe to, WHETHER THERE ARE ANY NEW ONES OR NOT.
Those corrections then ...

Every time I connect my 720 to Home (1.6 for OS X) it tells me there are corrections to POI's and I click to install them, it then goes through the downloading phase OK and then who knows as Home give ...
