have you tried doing a hard reset and maybe changing the colour scheme?

I doubt you'll get an exchange, or at least dont mention that youve added voices etc to the unit. They will blame the fault on your actions and will most likely be unwilling to exchange the unit.

Mine seems to differ, can be quick, but after updating through home it can take a while. The biggest improvement is that now i only have to press the power button instead of holding it.
