Yep, just checked and the tomtom website is still showing those accidents on the M5 from last Thursday now.

I have emailed some feedback to them but it does not seem to be actioned yet.

Well mine is set to manual however if I get a severe delay (congestion) flagged as discussed it does not give me a bypass option. I will however click it on to automatic and see if that makes ...

I am not sure. I have only noticed the option for accidents and road closed. You may be right though but it hardly ever gives me the option to divert.
