Been an avid fan of D2 and D3 - and have been following the PN D5 D6 and D7 debates for some time with interest. No rush to upgrade yet despite the maps being a tad out-of-date etc.

Thanks - when I've asked the two sites that have made me cables before they have both said it will not work as both devices are USB slaves. I don't understand what this means. It seems odd that it mig ...

I was under the impression tha ...

This from GPSBitz:

Connecting an iPaq and a GPS via a USB cable cannot be done..that is a mistake Garmin made. Its possible using a Bluetooth (BT) Car plug cable though or using a BT GPS mouse.

I'll see what they say and keep you posted.

Thanks for the reply - always dependable!

Apparently another difference is that the 305 has an electronic thing for altitude rather than relying on GPS. Still pondering upgrading from my Geko, savi ...

So still got minor fault with round abouts, no easy to find nearest custom POIs e ...

You can't do it in D3. I've set mine to dim the screen after 5 minutes when on power (i.e. in the car or at home in the cradle) which is usually enough for me.

You only have to touch the screen or ...
