I use Checkpoint as it is free and it works fine but make sure that you download version 2.02 from this web site as the latest version 3x is causing a few problems!

I had the same problem and purchased an Arkon multimedia mount which has a built in amplifier and speaker - No more problems!

Have you set up the GPS receiver and com port in TomTom - Tap the Navigator screen and then GPS Status - Make sure that your GPS receiver is selected correctly
