Have just used DiskAid to put my own ".bmp" and ".ov2" files into the Apps/W.Europe/poi folder and bowl-me-over-with-a-feather they work.

Your choice - if you run in map mode it uses data. Not much in "normal", a fair bit in "hybrid". If you run it in the background (ie multi task with a satnav say) it chews no data at all. Useful to kn ... |
