I have checked again with and without a GPS lock and the find place voice command is fine, previously it would reboot 100% of the time.

Current firmware is 7.60

This was an issue with my 3590 however I can confirm it was fixed in the last firmware update.

I would be fairly sure this is not a hardware issue if only this search option resulted in a crash

Don't know if there is a correct way, I used Windows Explorer and deleted any voices I don't need, e.g. German, Chinese etc.

They are in a folder called voices

Had a similar issue with with map zooming a while ago on my 1690 and a factory reset sorted it out.
Delete unnecessary foreign voices to make way for a full European map install
