There is a separate file for each Map that you have installed

and it did't work, I could only see the POIs I'd added previously

I think the problem you have is that the internal flash memory of the T5 appears to te OS as the FIRST card slot

How's your soldering?
You'll need a Linear regulator to give 3v from the 5v supply, you could house it inside the battery compartment of the BT adaptor
