I think that you will find that without the full Europe maps you can only route to major towns and cities via main roads which are all that are shown on the base map.

I think that you have made the best choice.

One thing to bear in mind is that the 300 is supplied with a carry case and also a USB lead which you would have to pay extra for with the 205.

Hi. I can't answer your question, but have you tried telephoning Garmin Product Support. The freephone number is 0808 2380000. I have called them a couple of times and found them very helpfull.

I also have a Nuvi 300 but prefer the 'Speed Zoned Complete' database. When I first joined I downloaded all three and tried them all to see which one I liked best.
