@Leo_A

After some testing I have a few questions.

One issue is that Android Auto Google Maps is issuing a voice navigation instruction via Bluetooth. The only option, which I'm using, is mute. However, all that does is stop the navigation voice instruction from being heard. Google Maps is still processing the instruction and hogging Bluetooth for quite a while after. This is stopping STA from transmitting Bluetooth alerts during this time.

I've looked at the settings but nothing looks relevant. What's 'wait for SCO-Connection'?

I've turned off use HFT and the STA alerts are working via multimedia but that doesn't fully mute the audio like HFT does. The multimedia option also doesn't truncate the alert which is a bonus.

Any pointers?

Forget that, it failed/truncated on the return journey. I've set it up to play the wine glass hit first, that may slow down the voice alert, hopefully.

My other issue is that AA is stealing Bluetooth so I've turned off Google Maps 'Play Voice over Bluetooth' - let's see what happens next journey. I had a few instances, even with Google Maps navigation muted where STA played through the phone speaker, very very softly, because AA had Bluetooth.

I'll get there, maybe.

Some journeys, like today, I've noticed that the alert warnings are pre-truncated.

I reckon todays issue is probably because my phone is now doing a lot of work since I activated Android Auto.

Instead of "Average Speed Zone, 50 miles per hour" I'm just getting ""ge Speed Zone 50 miles per hour".

What I've done is put 5 spaces in the Alert custom dialogue field before the text and it seems to work better in armchair testing.

So my previous custom text setting for the top category was "Fixed Camera" and is now "..... Fixed Camera" (replacing the dots with spaces).
