Thanks for the forum - I've used STA and PGPS for a long time. However it's only recently that STA on my Android 12 didn't work all the time. Praps it was after an update of it or Android. I could sometimes get the speedo and/or map to behave if I turned on the GPS first. Sometimes not.
Having just seen the ref to 'Use Google Play Services as the location provider', mine was set to the default setting. Changed this and Hey Presto. Will monitor to check it remains thus.
This should be highlighted in FAQ or setup guide. It seems that an update can screw this up. I certainly hadn't touched it!

OK thanks for that. I can see the cameras, I just wanted to check the voice activation as it was not working when I originally tried without the phone connected to the car, probably a phone setting not quite right

You can test voice and sound without playing route or driving. There is 3-dots menu at the top-right and command 'quick test'. This command displays popup alert and plays voice with sound.

Yes I saw that.
Any idea how I do a trial run at home to check it’s all working ok?

If you see cameras along your route on the map, then everything is OK.
If you wish to "play" your route with STA, install one of the "mock locations" Apps from the Google play and test.

Yes. it looks OK, must have been the bug in the previous STA version.

On another note is there a way to do a trial run from home as you could with CamerAlert, to save driving the actual route to check if things are working properly?

You can check via the settings database option to see the latest update date

I have updated STA to the latest version 1.2.6.1 (104) and tried the update button and it hasn’t put up a failed message so I presume that I have the latest camera database.

Have you extracted the .txt file from the .zip ?

Misunderstood, I thought the final version was up and running. I tried the manual way and have the download on the phone but it is not updating. I must be doing something wrong or missing a step

The last few posts do indicate the beta has been fixed and the production version will be updated soon.

In the meantime the old manual way works.

Not sure what you mean by those posts. They only confirm the database update has been fixed. But something is not working for me

I have just had to start using STA as i have got a new Samsung phone running Android 13. I have got STA on the phone but cannot get it to update to the current database. It has the one from 1/12/22, but I just get a message "update failed". It is probably something I am not getting right can anyone offer any help.
Many thanks
