Maybe leave as is but allow a dimming %

Mine is down by the gearstick so being a bit brighter when it does dim would be useful for me

I added this because bright phone screen (even with the adaptive brightness) in the darkness really annoys eyes. Secondary goal was the battery saving.

Explicit checkbox option "dim phone screen in dark time" is required ?

Set the map mode to "day" or "night", not "auto" (main navigation menu).

If you use "speedo mode" - no options, STA always dims the screen from sunset time to sunrise.

It's probably a really easy fix but I couldn't find anything in my settings last night.

Last night as I was driving and had STA as the main, running app the screen kept dimming until there was a camera. I'm getting old and my eyes are crap so it made it really hard to see the screen - adjusting the brightness made no difference.

If I moved to a different app (eg put Google Maps in front) then the brightness went back to the normal system brightness. So it definitely seems to be something that STA is overriding.
