Now this is something you probably haven't
seen before, it's a PDA mount with a difference. It has a dual PC
Card sleeve built in!
It really doesn't matter what the weight of
your PDA is in the car, because you're not carrying it around with you, or
having to put it into your pocket, so why not equip it with the ultimate
mount ? Two PC Card sockets! The only thing you have to be
concerned about is the weight, but most mounts do not have a problem with
this.
The UniMount currently works with Compaq
iPAQ 3100, 3600, 3700, 3800 and the new 3900 series. The unit itself
comes configured with a male serial interface which is what your iPAQ will
connect to the dual PC Card sockets with this connector, and because it
supports two PC Card slots, you could use any PC Card drive, MicroDrive or
CF card with a CF/PC Card GPS Receiver.
The power supply built into this comes with
a 12vDC in, 5vDC out regulated to avoid spikes that may occur from your
car battery and will charge both the iPAQ's internal battery and the
expansion pack battery.
There are currently 3 options for connecting
the iPAQ to the power dock, a D-Sub9 connector for the iPAQ 3100, 3600 and
3700 series connectors, and for the 3800/3900 series a seperate connector
can be used. You can also use in conjunction with other GPS
Receivers, phones, printers, modems etc.
The UniMount can be mounted on all
UniMount's system accessories.
The great thing with
the Power UniMount Dock is that you have the choice of several
different stands that the unit can fix to.
