TomTom have for several weeks been conducting a Selective Public Beta in America of TomTom Navigator 2 with maps provided by TeleAtlas.  Although we couldn't bring you any of the inside information at the time of the tests due to restrictions and NDA's we can now show you some great screenshots of TomTom Navigator 2 USA since TomTom have officially announced entering the American market and commenced shipping.  This is for all you American's users out there!

TomTom now bring their excellent application that everyone has been eagerly awaiting for to the US of A.  The only real difference is the maps.  Support for USA maps and also USA colour schemes was added in 2.20 of TomTom Navigator, both US and European users use the exact same program and GPS Driver, it's just that TomTom have added extra language support into Navigator to support how things are said.

We will be adding these into our regular TomTom Navigator 2 review shortly to support the USA based maps.

Summary

TomTom Navigator 2 USA will start shipping in July and will be available from all major retailers at a price of $319 US Dollars.  This will include TomTom navigator Software, cabling, GPS Receiver and mounting kit (like sold in Europe) - Leadtek 9531/9532.
