pocketgpsworld.comAt a launch event in London today, HTC unveiled the new HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z Android-based smartphones.

The new phones come with an updated HTC Sense which incorporates a camera experience and e-reading coupled with an e-book store.

HTC Desire HD
The HTC Desire HD specification includes a 4.3" LCD display and Dolby/SRS sound powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon processor. 720p HD video recording, an 8-megapixel camera with dual flash and a body hewn from solid aluminium completes the impressive feature list.

HTC Desire Z
With a unique new hinge that pops up to reveal a hidden QWERTY keyboard, the HTC Desire Z will prove popular with those who prefer a real keyboard. Again, 720p HD video recording and a 5-megapixel camera with flash take care of the photographic side. The HTC Desire Z is powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor.

Both new smartphones will be available through mobile operators across Europe/Asia from October 2010 with the HTC Desire Z available in North America later this year.
