It's been a while since I've seen anything new in the PocketPC off-road software arena but Tracky is a novel solution.
Tracky offers all the standard navigation features you would expect, full track recording, user POIs, altitude, Waypoint GoTo, trip computer etc and also adds a speed alert utility, a stopwatch, a trainer and fully featured Google Earth support.
Tracky can use live Google Maps dynamically downloaded OTA or if you don't have mobile web access you can cache the maps at home using your internet connection for later offline use out in the wilds.
