News: Garmin tease with multi-sensor controller concept
Following hot on the heels of the debate over driver distraction comes this great concept from Garmin for a new in-vehicle controller.
Their multi-controller is designed to control the essential functions of your in-car entertainment system including audio, communications, apps and last but not least, navigation.
Similar controllers are of course already available. Mercedes, BMW and Renault are just some of the manufacturers who offer solutions such as this but Garmin's concept goes a good deal further.
The system consists of a control wheel, a touchpad, buttons and a large high-level, dash -mounted display. An easy to use menu system allows the driver to access the relevant systems quickly and with minimal distraction and the buttons surrounding the control wheel enable quick selection of a function by touch.
