Now if I could find something that would block my email crap I’d rejoice. I’m now getting something like 20 every time I open mail and it’s a real pain deleting them all. |
I use Mailwasher and have done for many years. Doesn't stop it arriving, but shows you what it is and allows you to delete it before it is downloaded.

Waaaaaaaaay too intrusive/obtrusive; and I've also noticed it's not "just" a header on every page, also on the rhs and below last post every time but also as a footer on every page as well!
Why not stick another one on the lhs of each page too? |

Be careful what you wish for.
Seems like they are here to stay with nothing that 'we' can do about it, so either put up with them or use your ad blocker to block the messages as well as the ads and stop banging on about it. Simples. |

Some of you are obviously privileged, I don't get any orange banners _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Presumably the idea is to make the banners more intrusive then the ads.
It hadn't occurred to me to turn AdBlock off for this site, but I did after MaFt's first post and I really don't notice the ads. I turned it on this morning to see the orange banners and they really caught my eye, so I quickly turned it off again.
So I say well done to the Team. Your plan worked with me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. _________________ Anita

I just ignore the ads (I think pgpsw get paid for having them, not for getting them clicked, but if they have to be clicked, I'm not generating any income cos I don't click them). My attitude is if I want to see something on tinternet, I google it and ignore the ads which appear on there too. I long ago concluded that I don't want other people telling me what I want or need, so I ignore them all.
It probably helps that I'm remarkably thick and don't notice stuff.
As for Mailwasher, my mail shows me the sender and the title and a line or two of content. So when it's from sexysoo, or getyourfreegalhere, or says Hi dennis, fourteen gorgeous gals want to see you, or says would you like to enhance your appeal or performance, or how would you like to win 4 million slinky virgins, or you have won 4 million Nigerian dollars click here to claim them, I delete them without opening them. Mailwasher sounds to me no better than that. _________________ Dennis

I can't see the problem, they are hardly in your face and don't interfere with the thread flow.
I have been on some forums where there is an add every two or three posts _________________ https://share.octopus.energy/dense-raven-261 |

No ads or orange banners here. I do have a small box on the right hand side with GPS Shopping in it and an empty white box at the top and bottom. Don't know what you are all on about. _________________ Garmin Drive 51LMT-S EU

I've just seen an advert as I posted on another thread on PGPSW which I think is a bit sinister. It advertises a laptop computer that I was looking at in the John Lewis web site this morning. Anyone else experienced this phenonema?
jack.
Edit - PS It's still there! |

Google target ads to your browsing history. It is a regular thing on many sites, not just this one. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Correct
I've had similar, even with Privacy Badger and AdBlock+ firing on all cylinders. _________________ Satnav:
