Following on from our recent story about Gibraltar getting its fist fixed speed cameras, ten people were caught on the first day that the devices went live.

There was a short grace period of two week to allow locals to get used to the cameras. In that period 348 drivers were spotted speeding and issued a warning, but no fine.

Three cameras are in situ under a pilot scheme and, according to the Gibraltar Government, the fastest recorded speed was 68KMH (42.25MPH).

Violations are transmitted live to the offices of Gibraltar Car Parks Limited.
