hi sorry to jump in just bought a Garmin moved from TT I have tried to install POIloader but in wont start, a box appears saying please wait while POIloader extracts this might take a few minutes. but nothing happens, can any one help please.

Are you downloading it from here http://www.garmin.com/us/maps/poiloader?

Which browser are you using? There may be an issue if you're using Chrome.

You might also try updating your MSI package

Well it should work, I've just done it to check it's not a website problem, run the msi installer package I linked to to ensure that's not the problem.

sorry, correction it extracts the files but says please wait while they are installed, I have gone onto Microsoft update downloaded all updates and still the same

ran the fix it it ask me to select the program I am having trouble installing but its not on the list

Somewhere in the past I've heard of this issue before with a program allegedly not compatible and I can't remember the solution.

First step, reboot the PC to get rid of any locks. Second step, turn off UAC if you have it running. Third step, right click the installation file in Windows Explorer and click 'run as administrator'.

Compatibility mode. But FWIW I have very recently installed it on my W7 IE11 machine with no problem.
