Do you use Garmin SatNav for car, with 'Trip Planning'?

I don't have a Garmin yet (I use TomTom).
During a route created in 'Trip Planner' it is possible to "Skip next destination" or "Skip next shaping point"!
Exactly how many screen presses are required?
Is there a route recalculation involved?
I am interested in the latest Garmin 2559 or similar.

Yes, you can skip the next destination using the menu icon at the top left of the screen. I think it is two screen presses. I normally do that as I am near to the destination - I think it re routes when you cancel a waypoint but haven't paid that much attention.

I use TYRE to plan the routes - you have to move the file over manually on my unviable 2569 but it works just fine.
