Any sign yet of Go 6000s being able to accept third party pois?

Not as of yet, sadly.

I know that I'm one single insignificant person to Tom Tom but I've moved to a competitor because of the way they treat their long-term customers - the inability to install third party P.O.I's being the last straw. They know EXACTLY what they're doing. Others should do the same and hit TT in the pocket by not buying something that doesn't do ALL that they (the customer) want. Shame on them!

Given that the PND market must be suffering because folks are using their smart phones more and more as multi function devices then it seems strange that TT is developing new products which are leaving customers frustrated by their lack of flexibility.

You'd have thought TT would do anything and everything to respond to customers in order to hold on to their market share.

Especially when they previously had the features and someone must have made the decision to remove the code that was previously there. Pistol Shoot Out

Hmm, I wonder. The way TT have "dropped" features over the years looks more like every new model starts coding again from scratch with the new person being told roughly how to get from A to B, but then left to his/her own capabilities. I mean, they must have made an awful lot of decisions to remove code over these last few years? Almost looks like they've spent more time removing stuff than developing stuff.

Probably lost all the developers who understood it - so when things break with upgrades they just disable it.

I am surprised they haven't just turned their PNDs into an locked down Android device preloaded with the app

From what I hear, that's pretty much what they have done, but more like iOS rather than Android.

I didn't think Apple allowed use of its OS on other systems any more

I meant from the 'locked down' point of view. Not the OS per. se.

The latest models are indeed Android-based.
