For anybody too young to get the title, it means Garbage In Garbage Out.

Anyway, I am frequently ticked off at the new tech of the internet. It's supposed to be the real thing, instant answers and so forth.

So why do I find so many errors? People have websites for my convenience, to tell me what they do and where they are and how to contact them and all that guff.

My Renault van has a satnav built in and so did the one before it. Both of them have a POI set of Renault garages which has the wrong location of my local Renault dealer. The Renault website actually has the location better placed, but in the place where they used to be until they moved half a mile two years ago. The POI in the van actually takes me to a road which is the wrong side of a no through route, so you can't just wander up and down for a bit hoping you'll come across it, because you won't! Now for me, that's no problem because I know where the place really is. But the reason (I presume) for a POI set of them is to assist non local Renault owners to find the local one when in need!

Has nobody got the sense to tell someone in their organisation to occasionally look at their website to check for these sorts of things? I'm not just talking about Renault, I find it with so many websites. Surely Head Office can put out a little note to all branches asking them to look and let them know of any errors?
