I have looked for this having been previously answered, as I am sure everyone hits this wall eventually. My long serving 765T with lifetime maps just has too small an internal memory for the latest maps. I already sacrificed Europe, but now even UK and Ireland is just too big.

I know I read somewhere that in fact all maps could actually be taken out of the memory and put on the external SD card but cannot find the instructions.
So can someone please give me guidance.

If this is not possible I shall have to buy a new unit so hopefully someone may also tell me what is the best buy.

(Pity my brand new factory fit sat navigation is still not up to the standard of the Nuvi 765T I won't disclose the supplier).

The answer is no relevant to units that have an external SD card reader

Sorry, I don't understand your reply?

The procedure outlined in that FAQ will work for any nuvi, are you suggesting it won't work for you somehow Confused

If so what makes you think that?

Put a card into your nuvi. Connect to your PC and launch Garmin Express. It will either load the map to your nuvi or if it doesn't follow the steps in the link I posted.
