As another test I re-compiled the latest database through the Converter and POILoader and this time added in the Overspeed data so each camera has 2 lines of data - well you never know.

Same result, all correct.

Next test, use the separate Overspeed function ......

..... nope, still all correct.

Funny how it always only shows the # line even when the @ line is also available.

I've been allowing BC to use the map from the device to save installing it for testing. Shouldn't make any difference other than map loading is slow.

I'll leave BC installed in case my silver award winner has any ideas.

I've never loaded your converter to my laptop, so I'll try that later and create a file on that and see what happens Wink

No idea, but some progress. Creating the file on my laptop has resulted in a .gpi file that displays correctly, both in BaseCamp on my laptop and PC, so something is amiss with the file created on my desktop. Have to go out shortly so more investigation later today Very Happy

Well that's it, I'm done, I will simply use my laptop to create these files in future. I removed all possible links to my previously installed convertor, including all folders that I'd used to store zipped files, unzipped files, data etc. Uninstalled the convertor through Control Panel. Searched for any .gpi files on desktop and the usb stick permanently plugged into a rear port, deleted all I found (none that I didn't know about). Emptied recycle bin.

Fresh download of the convertor, created new folders for everything associated with it using different folder names than before, fresh download of PGPSW data, created the .gpx files in Convertor and then created the .gpi file using POI Loader ... and still those pesky cameras don't display correctly Twisted Evil

How did you search? I use a little utility called Locate32 which is standalone and seems to catch everything, even on network drives.

The other option would be to uninstall Basecamp and go into programdata and users/apps to make sure it has all been removed.

What I don't get is that you presumably have looked at the gpx file with those 2 cameras and it looks correct with the #50?
Those camera numbers don't exist in the 40 and 70 files ?

The same cameras on the laptop gpx are identical to the desktop ?

The Converter total cameras and POIloader agree with numbers and the numbers are the same on both machines, assuming the same Converter settings?

The cameras on the Nuvi are showing correct #50 ?

I'm just trying to think what you can compare like for like.

Create the gpx files on the laptop, copy them to the desktop and process POILoader.
Do the same the opposite way round. Desktop gpx to laptop then hit them with POIloader.

Bit of a chore but it will narrow down which process has the error.

Yes to all of that, file shows correctly on the device, incorrectly in BaseCamp. Just going to live with it, life's too precious to waste any more of it on this Very Happy

If I could only read what's in the .gpi file ...

Yes that would be the icing and would help reveal directional.

I remember someone posting that they had gpi info but was sworn to silence. I suspect he may have Garmin links.

Doesn't GPSBabel read gpi files and convert them?

Yep, although Converter doesn't go looking elsewhere other than the working folder, or does it?

That's a thought but not sure how much depth it goes into them, might give it a try later.

It does but it only copes with small ones. I tried it once on the trial Cyclops and it was having none of it.
