Tom Tom mount doesn't appear to charge a 4S?

Hi all,

I've just upgraded to a 4S, having been very happy with my 3GS and its Tom Tom cradle.

I've just upgraded to a 4S, I've obtained the stick-on adaptor for the Tom Tom cradle from Tom Tom, but when I set up the unit in the car, the cradle doesn't charge the iPhone. The adaptor is installed correctly, there is power to the lead, and the 4S charges with an old Apple lead from 3 generations ago.

Which is a bit of a bind, because the app uses a lot of juice and I'm in the car all day as a sales rep!!

Any ideas please???

Hi Waswa,

I have attached a couple of strips of black insulating tape to the face of the adapter that makes contact with the rear of my 4S. The 4S is ever so slightly thinner than the 4, and its enough to make the difference to charging or not charging. A temporary fix is to use the instruction leaflet that came with the adapter.
